MISSION
Wellscent, a holistic apothecary, sought to evolve from a respected but visually underrepresented apothecary into a brand that fully embodied the rigor, refinement, and credibility of its formulations. The goal was to create an authentic, elevated brand expression that could support both practitioner trust and direct-to-consumer growth—without losing its soul or medical legitimacy.
This wasn’t a one-time rebrand. Wellscent needed a brand system capable of growing alongside the business, opening doors to larger retailers, respected publications, and leading wellness practitioners.
THE CALL
Wellscent reached a turning point. Their existing branding was preventing them from being taken seriously by larger retailers, well-known publications, and influential medical professionals. Despite powerful formulations and growing demand, the brand itself became a barrier to credibility.
The need was clear: Wellscent required a brand that could communicate trust, refinement, and authority—without drifting into the clichés often associated with “natural” wellness branding.
They weren’t looking for decoration.
They were looking for alignment.
BEFORE STATE
Wellscent is a Santa Barbara–based holistic apothecary and nutraceutical brand founded by Stacy Shuman. Born from Stacy’s personal healing journey through Late Stage Lyme Disease, the brand quickly gained traction among integrative physicians, biological dentists, and wellness practitioners.
Through connections with Klinghardt-trained doctors and respected figures in the Lyme and autoimmune space, Wellscent’s formulations became widely trusted and recommended. However, while the products were exceptional, the existing branding didn’t fully reflect their quality, sophistication, or medical legitimacy.
The brand’s visual expression limited its ability to grow beyond its early network.
THE PROCESS
We partnered closely with the Wellscent team to audit the brand and define its long-term direction—listening first to understand business realities, growth goals, and evolving needs.
Leading with strategy, we built a modular brand system in phases, enabling Wellscent to test, learn, and scale without overextending resources. Early packaging supported in-house production for market testing, then evolved into larger runs, refined photography, and expanded touchpoints as demand grew.
Ongoing collaboration has remained central, with our guidance continually adapting to support Wellscent’s growth while maintaining clarity and continuity.
THE IMPACT
The new brand established a powerful new normal for Wellscent. Sales increased across B2B and DTC channels. Practitioner endorsements strengthened. Visibility expanded. Most importantly, Wellscent now had a brand that truly reflected the care, intelligence, and integrity of its work.
The result was not just a rebrand—but a long-term brand foundation built to support growth, trust, and longevity.
